چکیده

The results from a 1:50 scale aeroelastic model of self-supported steel lattice tower subjected to simulated hurricane winds are presented. considered is typical structure that used as part tower-insulator-conductor system for electrical transmission infrastructure. tests were conducted at the NSF Wall Wind Experimental Facility (WOW EF) Florida International University (FIU). was tested various wind speeds ranging 50 m/s 92 (equivalent full-scale speeds) varying directions. Two identification (SID) techniques utilized evaluate along-wind aerodynamic damping and compare with theoretical estimates. SID also crosswind damping. A buffeting analysis estimate response it measured values WOW. Drag moment coefficients calculated responses, dynamic amplification factors (DAF) well gust effect computed. required consideration variation turbulence intensity along height in analytical equations. drag shown agree proposed current standards. However, there might be need introduce base design. resonance contribution reach maximum 18% peak tower.

Influence of modeling in the response of steel lattice mobile tower under wind loading

These days there is an unprecedented rise in the number of lattice towers due to an ever increasing demand in communication. Lattice towers are 3D space frames that for design are conventionally analyzed as 2D trusses. For safety and economy, these designs need to be more rigorously analyzed considering them as 3D frames. In this study, two lattice towers of heights 18m and 40 have been analyze...
